Our two superb indoor event spaces, the Cowyard Barn and the Stables are perfect for rustic receptions. These 200-year-old buildings have been restored and re-purposed to create gorgeous undercover spaces for seated dinners for up to 32 guests and 100 guests respectively, with views down to the Manor below.

Option One:
The Cowyard Barn
Seating up to 100 guests for your dinner, the space has been left purposefully blank for you to decorate and style however you like, (or you can pick a package from our styling supplier and they will do it all for you), with concrete floors and bare stone walls, but with the addition of atmospheric strings of festoon lightbulbs amongst the old beams, and also some funky hidden feature lighting. Bespoke wooden rustic trestle tables (each seating 8 guests) and wooden folding chairs are included, or you can hire in your own furniture for a different look.
External caterers, (either one of our partners if you choose one of their fixed-price menus, or your own caterer), can set up a pop-up kitchen inside the barn, or in the courtyard outside. A very cool rustic bar clad in corrugated metal has been installed with a great range of local draught and bottled ales, lagers and ciders, as well as a great selection of spirits.
For your evening party the Barn will accommodate up to 120 guests, the hidden feature lighting transforms into a colour changing disco mode, the laser disco lighting kicks in and DJ’s or bands can set up wherever you like with plenty of space for dancing the night away!

Our smaller reception space, The Stables, seats up to 32 guests for a more intimate dinner. These former horse stables come packed with old-world character including old beams, the original door and window shutters, cobbled entrance, bare stone walls and even some old swallows nests!
This barn has a smart wood floor, thick glazed doors and windows to make the most of the lovely views (as well as making it super cosy for winter weddings!), superfast wifi, a high definition digital projector hidden in the ceiling and a 120 inch drop down cinema screen – perfect for a displaying pictures or videos – or maybe for a cinema night!
